This policy explains what WP Visibility collects when you use wpvisibility.com, the free scan, and the WP Visibility plugin, why we collect it, and who processes it on our behalf. We collect as little as the product needs to work, and we do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
The short version
- The free scan reads your site's public pages, the same pages any visitor or search engine can already see.
- The public scanner on this site asks for a URL. Creating an account separately requires an email address.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- The default plugin contacts our account service for update checks and manual license activation. Optional modules and connected assistants have additional data flows.
- We use no advertising trackers today. If that changes, this page changes first.
The free scan
The scanner on this site asks for a public site URL and returns an assessment with a score and findings. Requests are processed by our account service and scan engine. The engine fetches public information and uses external analysis services. Scan results may be cached, and request information is used to enforce usage limits. The form does not ask for an email address. Creating an account is a separate step.
Scan only a site you own or have permission to test. The scanner does not authenticate to private pages. Account-based scans and reports are stored with the account so you can access them again.
Your account
A free account stores your email address and a password. WordPress stores the password as a secure hash, never in readable form. Creating an account signs you in automatically. Your account records which sites you have added and how many scans you have used, so we can apply the free-tier limits.
Payments
When you buy a license, checkout is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your billing details and card information under its own privacy terms. We receive a confirmation that payment succeeded, your email, and a subscription identifier so we can issue and renew your license. We never receive or store your full card number.
Account and purchase workflows use your email for access, license, and billing messages. Our email provider also receives your email address and plan information. Use the unsubscribe option in optional messages to stop those emails. The public scanner displays its result on this page; it does not promise to email a report.
What the plugin sends
With default modules, the installed plugin contacts account.wpvisibility.com for update checks and manual license activation:
- An update check, which sends your plugin, PHP, and WordPress version numbers, with your license key as a request header, so we can serve the right update.
- License activation, which sends your license key and your site URL once, when an administrator clicks Activate.
The plugin sends no visitor data, runs no telemetry, and adds no third-party requests to your visitors' page views with the default modules. Its Privacy Manifest describes the plugin's data flows and storage.
If enabled, IndexNow sends changed public URLs and a site-generated key to its endpoint. The experimental Assist module sends a post title and excerpt to the AI provider configured on your site. A connected external assistant receives the information returned by tools it is allowed to call; its provider's data terms also apply. Check the installed plugin's Privacy Manifest and connection settings for your configuration.
Who processes your data
The service uses these providers for the functions described here:
- Stripe, for payments.
- Brevo, for email addresses, plan information, and configured email workflows.
- Google Cloud and its AI service, for running the scan engine and analyzing public site information.
- Cloudflare, for serving the marketing site and handling its network requests.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email support@wpvisibility.com with your request. We will review the account, scan, and email records involved and explain what can be removed and what must be retained. Billing records may need to be retained for tax and accounting obligations.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect.
