2.10.3 (August 9, 2026)
Fixes MCP connections that could return an empty tool list when ability registration failed. The catalog now uses registered abilities, with a logged fallback when the registry is unexpectedly empty. The built-in endpoint also remains available when the optional adapter fails to create its server. Resource requests respect the registered catalog, and the plugin’s documentation links point to the current docs.
2.10.2 (August 9, 2026)
Fixes an error when requesting a suggestion from the optional Assist module. The module now calls the configured provider’s text generation method and handles unexpected response types. Assist remains off by default.
2.10.1 (August 9, 2026)
Fixes shortcode and URL escaping in content written through the draft tools. A sample containing [gallery] could render a gallery, and a URL on its own line in a code block could become an embed. Fenced and inline code now escape those patterns while retaining the text when read back by an assistant.
2.10.0 (August 3, 2026)
Adds “Run audit now” to the Review queue toolbar and empty state. It queues description proposals for eligible published posts with missing descriptions, using each post’s own text without an AI request. You can inspect the proposals before connecting an assistant or enabling the weekly audit. The action requires manage_options, is limited to once a minute, and does not apply the proposed changes.
2.9.1 (August 1, 2026)
Corrects draft-writing defects in 2.9.0. Certain post types could create publicly visible content, the edit-lock check was skipped for assistant requests, and saved drafts lost backslashes in code and file paths. The content checks now examine block structure before rewriting: unsupported nested lists, inline images, shortcodes, and custom list numbering return an explanation. The release also fixes handling of Windows line endings, larger numbers of code blocks, and HTML tag names inside inline code.
2.9.0 (July 27, 2026)
Introduces abilities to create and edit drafts from a supported subset of markdown, converting headings, paragraphs, lists, quotes, and code into WordPress blocks. Reading post content also retains links and formatting for the assistant. These draft tools are separate from the SEO review queue. Version 2.9.1 corrected important content and visibility defects in this first implementation; use the current release.
2.8.1 (July 27, 2026)
Fixes false stale warnings on applied proposals, lost keyboard position during approval, and disappearing bulk diffs after a queue refresh. Redirect searches with no results keep their search field, and reduced-motion preferences disable press animations. Account fixes correct refunded license status, expired-session download links, and the menu path in setup instructions.
2.8.0 (July 26, 2026)
The Review queue updates in place after an approval or rejection instead of replacing the whole list with a spinner. Diffs arrive with the list response, and confirmations identify the applied change, such as “Description updated.” This reduces reloads while reviewing a batch and keeps keyboard navigation in place.
2.7.2 (July 26, 2026)
Failed license activation now keeps the entered key so you can correct or retry it. The pending proposal count moves to the top-level WP Visibility menu item and appears only when work is waiting. Buttons and toggles also show a pressed state while waiting for the server response.
2.7.1 (July 20, 2026)
The Redirects page shows the add form by default, including source, target, status, and the regular-expression toggle. Search moves beside the rule list. The release also corrects two links to missing pages.
2.7.0 (July 19, 2026)
Moves the Redirects manager from Settings to its own page in the WP Visibility menu. Its rules, CSV import, REST routes, and assistant abilities stay the same. A command palette entry opens the page, and opening Redirects or the Review queue with its module disabled now points to the relevant toggle.
2.6.3 (July 16, 2026)
Corrects the Heading structure check, which had warned when the content contained no H1 and passed when it added an H1 alongside the theme’s title. Canonical and redirect fields also show an inline warning for URLs without a scheme or leading slash, instead of dropping them silently on save.
2.6.2 (July 15, 2026)
The plugin respects WordPress’s “Discourage search engines” setting instead of overriding it. Table creation for AI Traffic Lens, Link Graph, and the activity log retries after a failure. Uninstall removes the Agent pause setting, and the proposal Revert confirmation warns that restoring saved values discards later edits to the same fields.
2.6.1 (July 15, 2026)
Fixes the submit-indexnow ability and its error reporting. Canonical and redirect URL validation rejects unsupported schemeless values instead of converting text such as new-page into an external URL. Assistant-created redirects also work after a command-line-only setup, and redirect rules accept status 451.
2.6.0 (July 15, 2026)
The redirect manager arrives in the admin. When the Redirects module is on, you get a searchable, paged list of your rules with hit counts, add and inline edit, delete, and a CSV import that reads Redirection and Rank Math exports, with a dry-run preview that writes nothing. The redirect engine itself had already shipped; until now it was reachable only over REST or your AI assistant. A new rule whose target is another rule’s source warns about the chain when you create it, not after visitors find it.
2.5.0 (July 14, 2026)
Adds an Import screen for detected Yoast, Rank Math, SEOPress, The SEO Framework, and All in One SEO data. It shows word-level diffs for a sample of post titles and descriptions, then provides progress and a Stop button during import. The preview does not cover term metadata or settings. The importer remains available through WP-CLI, REST, and an assistant ability.
2.4.4 (July 11, 2026)
The Modules toggle list now follows the sidebar section order, so each switch sits in the same order as the section it controls.
2.4.3 (July 11, 2026)
The admin content column widens further, to 1800px on large displays.
2.4.2 (July 11, 2026)
Widens the Settings and Review queue content columns from 1100px to 1440px on large displays.
2.4.1 (July 11, 2026)
Sets “Hold for my review” as the default guard mode for supported SEO write abilities when Agent and Autopilot are enabled. The Review queue adds a status header, Activity log tab with chain verification, word-level diffs, an Undo action after approval, and keyboard controls. Assistants can attach a reason to supported proposals. Other WordPress write and approval routes retain their own permissions; the setting does not route all writes through the queue. See the current review and recovery instructions before using Undo or Revert.
2.3.1 (July 10, 2026)
Adds bulk approval and rejection to the Review queue. Select individual proposals or all loaded proposals, then confirm the action. Each item runs through the same checks as an individual approval; proposals whose checked state has changed are skipped and reported as stale.
2.3.0 (July 10, 2026)
Moves the Review queue to its own page under WP Visibility, with a menu count for proposals waiting for review. The page opens with the “Needs review” filter, keeping proposal review separate from unsaved settings.
2.2.1 (July 9, 2026)
Long values in the Review queue, such as an llms.txt body or a block of custom schema, now collapse behind a Show more toggle, so a document-sized proposal no longer crowds out one-line changes. Proposals that target a post also link to that post’s editor for context.
2.2.0 (July 9, 2026)
Adds a Review queue interface in wp-admin with before-and-after diffs and Approve, Reject, Refresh, and Revert actions. The queue was previously available through the command line and REST API.
2.1.0 (July 9, 2026)
Adds the built-in MCP endpoint at /wp-json/wp-visibility/mcp. Clients that support its transport and WordPress Application Password authentication can connect without an adapter plugin. Ability calls use the plugin’s permission checks, request limiting, pause control, and activity logging. The connecting credential retains its authority on other WordPress routes.
2.0.2 (July 9, 2026)
This update fixes a bug that stopped the plugin’s agent abilities from registering on WordPress 7.0, a fault that left the entire agent surface unavailable without an error. It also corrects release metadata so the update channel serves the right package.
2.0.1 (July 9, 2026)
The Autopilot module description on the settings screen now names both halves of the module: the review queue for agent changes and the optional weekly audit. It also states plainly that holding changes for review is a choice, not the default.
2.0.0 (July 5, 2026)
The first public release, incorporating earlier development builds. It includes output escaping and permission fixes, SEO fields for custom post types, redirect management, proposal approval, uninstall cleanup, and update delivery. Settings include title and description templates, site verification fields, indexing choices by post type, an llms.txt editor, an Agent pause control, and links to the site’s sitemap, robots.txt, and schema output.
